Synopsis: A young Pakistani girl fights (literally) to achieve her dream of becoming a stunt woman while trying to save her sister from the evil mechanations of a charming but potentially wicked suitor.
The Good: I loved so much about this film. It was unique and fun and action packed and funny. Priya Kansara held her own as a young martial arts student with a lot of drive and not a lot going her way. Very visually active film. Colorful and vibrant.
The Bad: The pacing is off for American audiences not accustomed to the Bollywood style. Not their fault at all.
Best Line: “Your uterus is 1.8 times stronger than anyone I’ve ever seen!”
Fun Fact: Polite Society premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2023.
