Synopsis: A reluctant and neurotic mallard takes his family on migration for the first time.
The Good: There are plenty of cute scenes. They checked all the template boxes with the over cute child character, the wild colorful one, the too-tense dad, the old and not quite there one. It’s a unique concept with potential.
The Bad: There’s no actual plot honestly. There’s moments and scenes but it’s not cohesive as much as a series of events. I didn’t like the art direction either, it felt weird, framed weird.
Best Line: In Kitchen, he’ll make you into duck a l’orange.’
What’s “duck a l’orange”?’
It’s you with “l’orange” on top.’
Fun Fact: While almost all the humans in this movie (including the antagonist – the head chef of The Cguapi) are non-verbal, only one female has a singing part: Mon Laferte performs “Survivor” in the Salsa Tuesday dance sequence.
