9/16/2024

Synopsis: When they’re boss turns up dead on a weekend vacation, two friends pretend he’s still alive while searching for the killer.

The Good: Classic 80s comedy. Full of goofball humor, bikinis and morbid gags. Andrew McCarthy was a king of the decade and there’s hardly anyone who was alive at the time that doesn’t remember this film. Back when cinema took chances.

The Bad: Aside from problems of basic biology, there’s the problematic issue that are just an artifact of the decade. The film itself is made pretty much exactly the way you’d assume it was written.

Best Line: A little brown-nosing, a little ass-kissing, work our way up that corporate ladder?” WHY can’t you be a lazy shit like I am?’

Fun Fact: Terry Kiser’s stunt double suffered a few broken ribs during filming, mostly in the scene in which Bernie is dragged around the surface of the ocean, bumping into metal floating buoys.’
