Synopsis: On the brink of losing her home, Maddie finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. She has one summer to make him a man or die trying.
The Good: A very funny film. Lots of laugh out loud moments. Jennifer Lawrence kicks wholesale ass, butt naked on the beach. The chemistry with the characters was good and while it’s not an absolute banger there was enough drama to keep you interested without going over the top and great situational comedy.
The Bad: I like how it ended story wise, props for not taking the easy way out but it needed a little more attention. Too many people rush the ending.
Best Line: Did you beat up those kids?’
‘No, they apologized.’
‘I heard screaming.’
‘That was the apologizing.’
Fun Fact: The plot came from a real Craigslist ad sent to Gene Stupnitsky by producers Marc Provissiero and Naomi Odenkirk, with the former telling Jennifer Lawrence about the story over dinner with her in mind for the role. – IMDb
