Synopsis: Theater kids do what theater kids do at a performing arts camp.
The Good: You ever watch a daytime movie that’s just terrible but you kind of like it and you feel bad about it after? It’s like that but with gay kids. There were tons of Broadway songs throughout though.
The Bad: The acting was amateurish, the plot was Swiss cheese. The whole thing felt like a summer camp recital and yet didn’t ruin the film. It just feels like a rough draft of something that might have been pretty good. Don’t expect much and you’ll get it.
Best Line: Ok if I use these drawers?’
‘You can go into anybody’s drawers you like. I don’t think you’ll get an argument.’
Fun Fact: Anna Kendrick (supposedly, though I don’t remember it) wrote in her autobiography ‘Scrappy Little Nobody ‘ that she couldn’t see anyone bothering with this film except closeted teenagers wanting to come out.
Maybe… That’s enough?
